Actors Will Smith and Martin Lawrence announced on social networks that they are working on the fourth part of the action comedy Bad Boys .
The exact release date is unknown. Production will be handled by Sony Pictures. Smith, Lawrence and Jerry Bruckheimer ( Pirates of the Caribbean , Top Gun ) will take over production duties. The director’s post will again be shared by the authors of the third film, Adil El Arbi and Bilal Fallah.
The franchise about two cop friends was launched in 1995 by director Michael Bay. Sequels followed in 2003 and 2020 . In total, the trilogy grossed $839 million at the worldwide box office.
“Bad Boys 4” was announced back in January 2020, but production was stopped several times , including due to the scandal with Smith, Chris Rock and a slap in the face at the 2022 Oscars .
